I love this chalk paint so much I stalk the store waiting for it to open to buy more! I wish I could say that was a joke, but it isn’t. The funny part is, when I went the last time, I was the 2nd person waiting for the door to unlock! Some days, I get ready for bed and it looks as though I’ve bathed myself in it because I’ve been just painting away. I just adore the softness of this paint and the way it brings out the details the original crafter put into the pieces. There is something to be said for bringing life into these old pieces of furniture. It’s therapeutic. Here are two pieces I’ve recently finished. Stay tuned for upcoming stuff too….
I sell these pieces locally so if you’re in the Colorado Springs area, feel free to inquire about the items you see. Thank you so much for stopping by!
We have had quite the wild weather here in Colorado this spring. Several days of pleasant weather then several inches of snow. We need the moisture and I do enjoy having the time to work on some projects so I won’t complain too much. So I’ve veered away from the paper crafts a tad recently and have picked up chalk painting and doing various crafts from reclaimed wood. Nothing big, just lots of small projects I’ve been eyeing So here’s just a few of what Amanda’s Elevated Designs is currently selling locally:

After seeing Going Global for the past several weeks, I know this next sentence will come as a surprise. My favorite stamp set currently is Timeless Texture. So be prepared for an overload of this set now! I just LOVE how this set provides texture without needing to invest in many other embellishments, therefore making this a perfect set for a beginner stamper.
Oh…and butterflies? Who can go wrong with those? I do realize the butterfly thinlet has coordinating stamp sets (Butterfly Basics p124 and Watercolor Wings p75 of the IB&C) but because the lower right corner of the card was already fairly busy, I didn’t want to over do it on the butterfly.
This card is chuck full of different yet simple elements, so without further adieu, I’ll just list the items below because the card pretty much explains itself.Just one last thing…there is an amazing new tool (Big Shot Die Brush) featured in the Occasions catalog that makes these detailed framelits/thinlets ridiculously easy to get out once you’ve cut them. It presses out all those little pieces with no hassle and I quote my friend, Amanda B., “It’s so easy a child can do it!” And she put it to the test!Spread some cheer today and get together with some friends to challenge one another and ignite your creativity!
I know you all are probably sick of the lovey dovey cards but there’s no such thing as too much love. Imagine the world we’d live in if each of us tried to out-love one another? This card was inspired by one I saw created by my inspirational upline, Kimberly Van Diepen. Again, some elements were changed to suit the supplies I had on hand. That is the beauty of what we do. We can change the color of a card or some of the accessories and it can totally change the feel of the card. So never feel discouraged if you copy someone’s idea- it’s the greatest form of flattery. Just be sure to give credit where it’s due. What’s not to love about the elements on this card? The glitter ribbon is yummy and adds some bling without putting this out of the realm of possibilities for a masculine card. I promise to feature some new sets soon…but for now I can’t get enough of this one. Get it NOW before it’s GONE!Now get out there and make something beautiful! Have a great time being crazy creating!
I love finding ways to use a stamp set “outside of the box”. This Going Global (140745) really had me thinking Valentine’s. And I’ll admit, Valentine’s Day was here and gone before I really started inking this bad boy up. So off to the creative boards I went to search out some non-traditional ways to use this set. I’d love to tell everyone I’m a creative genius and can take credit for every card I stamp, but sometimes a person just gets creative block and they need help from a fellow stamper. So thank you, Tamara Bertram, for this idea which I tweaked for the supplies I had on hand. I am in love with this card and it’s versatility.
…and just when you think you own every circle punch…you find you are missing the one size needed to punch this doodad out haha.
So of course I would fall in love with a stamp set that is only available for a limited time. I debated whether to post this photo since you can no longer order it but I’m sure many of you loved it as much as I did and DID get it while it was available. That being said, here’s then a creative inspiration for how to use your stamp! I embossed the plane using Versamark and Pewter powder. The ink is Lost Lagoon using the Work Of Art stamp set. I love the simplicity of this card. Then of course a little bling is needed and so I added some rhinestones, a clear button and twine. Enjoy!Another stamp set that would work great with this technique is Traveler. Very easy to make a masculine card or a simple antique looking card.
Don’t forget for every $50 you spend, you get a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog! If ordering online, use the HOSTESS CODE below. Have a great time being crazy creating!
I am in awe of how awesome this card turned out and how simple it really was to make. The XOXO sentiment comes from February’s Paper Pumpkin kit. The kit accessories are available for ordering but right now there are not any stamp sets available for purchase so when re-creating this card, you may need to find a different sentiment. Enjoy!
I have had my eye on this Timeless Textures set for quite some time and just haven’t had the chance to play. Finally, I got the kids to bed and about 10:00 started stamping away. I had many more ideas wandering through my mind well past midnight but my eyeballs said it was enough for the night I love how the wild wasabi, hello honey and early espresso come together to have an aged leather & metal look. Antiquing metal and combining with leather is becoming all the rage lately and this fits right in. Enjoy!
